To configure your new email account into Outlook
Express:
- Launch Outlook Express
- Select Tools -> Accounts
- Select the Mail tab
- Select the Add button
-> Mail
- Type a display name for your
new email account. This display name will appear in the From:
field of any email messages that you send from this account
- Select Next
- Type your new email address
in the E-mail address: field
- Select Next
- The E-mail Server Names window
will appear
- Leave POP3 selected
- Type mail.ideaz.ca in
the Incoming(POP3) field
- Use your Internet service provider’s
server for Outgoing(SMTP) (i.e.
shawmail or mail.telus.net – you can check this on your existing
email configuration)
- Select Next
- Provide your account name (whatever
appears before the @ symbol in your new email address)
- Provide your new email account
password
- Select Next
- A confirmation window will appear.
Select Finish
- The Import window may appear
offering you the option to import your messages and address
book from another email program
- Select Do not import at this
time
- Select Finish
- The email account setup is complete
To begin sending mail from your new email
account:
- You
should still be looking at the Internet Accounts window (if
you aren't please select Tools - > Accounts
again)
- Click
on the new account that we created. It should be named mail.ideaz.ca
- Select
the Set as Default button
- Select

Netscape
Messenger
To configure your new email account into Netscape
Messenger:
- Ensure
that your Netscape browser is closed
- Select
Start -> Programs -> Netscape ->
Utilities -> User Profile Manager
- The
Profile Manager dialog box will appear. Select New
- Select
Next
- Type
your full name, along with your new email address into the
appropriate fields
- Select
Next
- Provide
a new name for your profile
- Use
your Internet service provider’s server for Outgoing(SMTP)
(i.e. shawmail or mail.telus.net – you can check this
on your existing email configuration)
- Select
Next
- Type
the first portion of your new email address (the part before
the @ symbol) in the Mail server user name: field
- Type
mail.ideaz.ca in the Incoming Mail Server: field
- Select
Next
- Select
Finish
- Netscape
Communicator will launch
- To
access your email, select Communicator -> Messenger
from the menu bar

Microsoft Outlook
To configure your new email account into Outlook:
- Launch Outlook
- Select Tools -> Accounts

- (If you connected via phone
line it will ask you to confirm which connection. Select Next)
- A confirmation window will appear.
Select Finish
- The Import window may appear

book from another email program
- Select Do not import at this

- Select Finish
- The email account setup is complete

account:
- Right
click on your current personality and select New
- The
New Account Wizard launches
- Select
Create a brand new email account
- Select
Next
- Type
a name for your new personality in the Personality Name:
field
- This
name will appear in the Personality list
- Select

- Type
the name that you would like to appear in the From:
field of any email messages that you send in the Your Name:
field
- Select
Next
- Type
the email address of the account you wish this personality
to access in the Email Address: field
- Select
Next
- Type
the first part of your email address (whatever appears before
the @ symbol in your email address) into the Login Name:
field
- Select

- Type

- Ensure
that POP is selected as the server type
- Select
Next
- Use

on your existing email configuration)

- A
confirmation window will appear confirming that setup is complete
- Select
Finish
- Your new personality will appear
in the Personality list

To create a new user profile in Netscape 6:
- Ensure
that your Netscape browser is closed
- Select
Start -> Programs -> Netscape 6.1
-> Profile Manager
- The
Profile Manager dialog box will appear. Select Create Profile
- Select
Next
- Type
a name for your new profile. This name will appear in the
Available Profiles list.
- Select
Finish
- Netscape
6 will launch
- Select
the envelope icon (
) on Netscape's
status bar
- The
Account Wizard will appear
- Select
ISP or email provider in the New Account Setup
window
- Select
Next
- Type
your full name (as you would like it to appear in your message's
From: field), along with your new email address in
the Identity window
- Select
Next
- Leave
POP selected as the incoming server type
- Type
mail.ideaz.ca in the Incoming(POP3) field
- Use

a "friendly name" for your new account
- Verify
